Marketing with Alex, glad I've joined!

Success, what to do about it?
Success is something you cannot really understand very easily. You can't say he or she is born with it or without. Of course it can be easy to have a good solid background, but also a lot of times it is the other way around.
To be short, you cannot say one single thing or come up with one single factor that is the secret to success. But one thing's for sure in my opinion. It has everything to do with yourself and yourself only!
When you have the skill to focus and you really have a great mindset, you can accomplish whatever you want in life and make any amount of money you want. You have to believe in yourself and stand up every time you fail.
Fail? Yes, the odds are against you in this. Just dig into the stories of all the great businesspeople and you will see a lot of failure, especially in the beginning. Also most of them lost it all at some point in their life. You can see what the difference is between these successful businessman and woman and the average you and me?
They just don't give up!
They keep believing in themselves and go on and on just as long as it takes to get there or to get there again. They set goals to themselves and act on it!
That is also the reason why 99% of the newbe marketers fail online. No mindset. Did you really think these guru's are where they are now from day one? Of course not. They just went on and on, read one book after another while keeping their full time job. Most of them did this a few years before success came.
Most people just do not have the mindset to really go for it. Just park their behinds in the couch in front of the tv stuffing nasty fast food into their mouth. Write down for a week how many hours you do that and you will never use the 'no time' excuse again!
And you know something else? They where loosing money too, just like any other. But there is one big difference. Instead of just giving it all up, successful people crawl back up again and again while learning from their mistakes!
So wake up! Do you think they are special or something? That they wouldn't rather hang out on the couch?
No, they just hung in there, kept believing and stayed hungry for change and success!
And now? After a few years they did that? They are playing golf during the day making a lot of money even at the same time!
What are you doing every day to get where you want to be?

Who the heck am I?
My name is Marcel Heersema from The Netherlands. I'll bet the first question that pups into your mind is: "What the heck is a Dutch guy doing here writing in English?"
That is because a decision I made about five years ago. I wanted to make money on the internet and simply choose for the bigger english market. Also because most 'how to' information was only available in English and so where the programs recommended to use.
It has come to a point that I even install things in English on my computer, or get confused!
Still I hope you can forgive me that my English won't be flawless all the time.
As I stated above my interest in Internet Marketing started five years ago. I had a 25 hours a week job so I needed to find a way to make more money. Time was on my side so I looked for opportunities on the internet. What appealed to me the most where the following statements on all the 'opportunity pages'.
- Make money while you sleep
- Completely automated
- Start your own business
- No experience needed
- Fire your boss
- Work whenever and wherever you want
.... You get the idea.
Although all the statements are true, they don't tell you that you actually have to do some work to MAKE it work! I know now that if an opportunity sounds to good to be true (i.e. you don't have to do a thing) it just IS and you should leave the page asap.
That is why a lot of my posts will be about Motivation and Success.
Now, back to my story.
For about 4 long years I tried a lot of things like mlm, adsense, referral marketing, affiliate marketing, article marketing, pay per click, search engine marketing, you name it. Along the way I have read e-book after e-book.
Not without success too, but I chose the wrong programs! Every time I was building up something good, the program died. Can you imagine how frustrating it is when you build a huge downline (I did it up to 1200 people!) and then the plug is pulled out?

Made some nice Adsense (?) money, this is only from one website! Then I got banned from the adsense-program, made some mistake, never know exactly, cause they won't tell you. Now I have a new account, but use it only as an extra, never again as a stand alone income source!

All traffic to this site was natural, did not cost me a thing! I had the .com and the .net where I used the .com site for the search engines and linked from there to my .net search site with adsense on it.
So you see I had to overcome setbacks again and again. Yes, it took me some time in between to overcome, but I am still here!
And time hasn't been on my side for a long time now! I got a better job for years now as a truck driver. That means I work about 70 hours a week away from home so I have only short weekends for my online work.
But don't worry, I am getting close to fire my boss. I set my goal for less then half a year now. I want a better life and I am the only one who can do something about it!
You know what costs me most of my time? Learning all the techniques and most important, how to tie them together. That is why I highly recommend step by step programs, where you'll be taken by the hand one step at a time!
